Busy weekend for the Longs. Jonathan and dad attended a stake father and son campout. Great food and company. Ribs, chicken, corn........... very well done. A good change from the usual church hamburgs and hot dogs. Oh, and did I mention I'm glad it wasn't cutting into my YM/ Scout budget. It was nice to sit back and not be in charge of the event, which seems to be the case most of the time with my calling. I enjoyed spending time with Jonathan. We left early from that event and got a good long day of fishing in off of Long Island Sound. No fish for myself or Jonathan this time. But we had a good time. We saw a neat old ship in full sail just like the ones we saw at Mystic Seaport. What a site!! Jonathans Uncle Adam caught a 16lb Striper. Very big fish. We had plenty of fish to share. Had the missionaries over for grilled striper on Sunday. To put it into perspective, Adam gave us one side of fish, we cooked half of what we had, and were able to feed ourselves and the missionaries. So I had to put a fish pic or two in this week. We had Jillian's 6th birthday party last week. Family and friends came to join in our celebration. Janel out did herself with making princess cupcakes. Great food too. Jillian had a good time with cousins and friends. They had a picnic under our apple tree. (the tree with all the streamers hanging down) Grandma and Grandpa took Jon and Jillian to see Night in the Museum. Janel and I took Julia to go see baby goats at a local farm. We had home made icecream and Julia loved feeding the goats their own icecream cones. She had a blast!!! Janel and I planted our garden on Saturday. Looking forward to fresh tomatoes and all the other veggies. We are tired of paying for town water..... thinking about putting a shallow well in. (almost free water) Thats the Long update....stay tuned.

Okay, we have not posted for a while. So here goes what our family has been up to. Josh went fishing on the boat again.........nice fish!!! Well, I cannot take credit for that fish. My brother Adam caught that one, so the fish got passed around for pictures. Adam had that one for dinner. I on the other hand got fresh lobster for Janel and myself. It was great!! Wish you were here to share with us. It was a good day on the water. We caught a ton of bluefish. Fun to catch, but not great to eat. Jonathan is still involved with baseball. Their team is doing great. He is great at hitting the ball. Mom and Dad are proud. Julia cannot wait for preschool. Jillian Just turned 6 last Sunday. Where has the time gone??? Janel mowed the lawn yesterday. New toy for Josh, but Janel has taken over the lawn care!!! Too much fun racing around the yard she says.............vroom,vroom

Jonathan did great at his game yesterday. He played first base the whole game. He made the winning out. Great job Jonathan!! Our company sponsored the team again this year. Good advertising on the shirts....
